Optional Essay

I'm a high school senior (not a transfer applicant) applying to Pitt. I completed the 3 optional short answer questions and my app is finished, but I'm don't know if I should submit an essay.

This link provided by Pitt (<a href="http://www.oafa.pitt.edu/supplemental_info_transfer.html">http://www.oafa.pitt.edu/supplemental_info_transfer.html</a>) says the essay is for transfer applicants, but should I submit an essay anyways? And if so, should I put it in the same document as my 3 short answer questions or should I email it separately?

Also, would an essay about gender inequality be appropriate to submit? I wrote it for another college with the prompt being, “'The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.' – Albert Einstein. Write about an aspect of the world that has engaged your curiosity and led you to ask questions. Explain the actions you have taken to learn more about the issue and the strategies you have used to address any concerns you have about the issue."
I feel like the essay is very well written, but I don't know if it is what Pitt is looking for.

the prompt clearly specifies its for transfer students, so I think its okay if you don’t submit anything. I’m not expert, but I don’t think that they are expecting a transfer essay for a high school student

@fp5080m, Pitt admissions staffer here! You do not need to respond to the transfer prompt. Your answers to the supplemental questions are sufficient for our purposes.

Thanks!
