I seriously doubt it, they probably have many other things to do. That was the intent of setting up the accounts in the first place--so students could check status and update without needing a staff member to do it. And probably to cut down on the worried phone calls as well. My guess is that deposit link generated a lot of worried phone calls from people with and without it, and thus it was easier to remove it until the letters go out.

I checked my daughter's account on Tuesday and it had the "link" on it. She received her acceptance package today. Could be coincidence but......

Hope that link really meant something..

Lp75, was your daughter an athlete/URM/anything else that would have made her possibly find out early? thanks

Well, just when I thought that an admission letter was imminent and the deposit link questions wouldn't matter anymore....more waiting. Hope it wasn't a glitch and hope that the Admissions office just needed more time and decided they didn't need any more calls from people asking about it.

My daughter is a URM and that may be part of the reason why she received the early notice. Funny thing is, the notice is dated April 1!

yeah thats unusual... lol but sorta interesting when you think about it

NO it does not mean u are admitted. I was just recently accepted today and I do not have that link. However, I WISH ALL OF U THE BEST!

Devil May Cry:

The link was removed from everyone's account on Thursday. No one can see it anymore.

oh okay. sorry then fellas

The link does not mean anything.

I checked my Opus when this thread started, when everyone still had the link,I didn't have one,and I've been accepted.

I still think it HAS to be a good sign - to have had that link last week, I mean... its sorta encouraging... CONGRATS to everyone!

nt's post invalidates all these assumptions... I just think it had to do with then they recieved applications, nothing more...
In addition, the people getting decisions now are all URMs because there is a reception for them on april 2nd, so they have to have time to plan travel, etc...
I think the link means nothing, really. I don't have it on my OPUS but I think I will get in. :) lol.

arH!!!! This is driving me a bit crazy....
I have also received this Oxford thingie from the Admissions Office on 3rd of march, then Scott Allen, the counselor who is incharge of international applicants wrote me a mail responding to my mail regarding my inability to visit Emory also said that that my file is on his desk for review. that was 1st of march....
Then, today i read abt that u guys who have too, received this mail abt oxford but have also gotten accepted by Emory like last week on 11th march. i am getting nervous......

duno how that fares as compare to those of u who got accepted........

I have already got admission offer from UW-madison, and PSU-University Park.

I am a URM. It doesnt mean that if I haven't gotten anything yet I am screwed, does it?

I think it does, Duke.... check your mail and email again... lol.

Did anyone call the admissions office and ask what happened to the deposit link? Just curious if anyone has had any contact with them about that (was it an error, did they reconsider 'online deposits', etc.)? Did anyone get a hint from them regarding when their regular big mailing of admission decisions would go out?

I have the link but no bill...what does that mean?

Under Finances, there is an inactive link for "make an online payment." A couple of weeks ago, lots of folks had a link under Admissions, which said "Pay Your Admissions Deposit Online." Then it disappeared.

OPUS--Learner Services--'New Window' link at top right corner of page--Admissions link--Pay Admissions Deposit online link--"No matching values were found"
