which did they use in chem 357 last year? I want to order it early =). THank you

the textbooks might and usually do change from year to year. a good way to figure out what books you will need is to go to the Cornell Store website and click on "textbooks", and click on "faculty". Then click on textbook verification, sign in, and look for your books.

Copy and pasted from chem 357:

The Chem 357/358 group is using a book by McMurry for the summer session which is being taught by Ruttledge, who I believe will also be teaching in the fall.

Like aloe said...there is a chance they will change from year to year.

Can't you email the prof and find out?

the cornell store bought the books back this semester, which means that the professor ordered more for next year, so they will probably be using the same textbook.

If the Cornell Store, not the wholesaler, bought the book then there is a good chance the book will be used in the fall.

so did they buy back 9780536246752 BRUICE 5 PKG: ORGANIC CHEMISTRY W/ STUDE PEARSON 5T R ? or the book by McMurry? what is the title? thanks

and since its a pkage of 5, can it only be bought in cornell store -_-

the info on the cornell store website is the correct info for next semester. what is pasted here is the info for the fall 08 semester chem 357. usually the chem books are not much cheaper online, so I would just buy the Cornell store 5pack.

just some fyi - ruttledge will not be teaching 357 in the fall - he's teaching 251; njardarson is teaching 357, and i think ruttledge told me that he previously taught 359 - should be loads of fun

also, sorry to go a little off topic, but this kinda goes in line with it. i've seen previously on ruttledge's syllabus (i think) that he recommends a model kit to get. does anyone know what this specific model kit is, whether it is likely that a different prof will recommend it (i guess it wouldn't be listed since it is only recommended as an "investment") since a different one will be teaching it, and where to get it cheap?

Ruttledge is teaching 251? What happened to Russo?

wow so confusing lol, i'm i want to order early because my friend's friend can get chemistry books for cheaper than schools because of his connections. so that's why i was wondering what book. maybe i should email the professor

It's not a big deal. Books show up on Amazon.com and Half.com by the boatloads around the time school starts. At worst, you'll receive the books a week after class has started.

^^and if that's the case you can always use a reserve book for the first week if you really need it.
