Organic Chemistry

Hello,

I was wondering how difficult organic chemistry is at Northeastern. I took general chemistry last year at a different University and it was not very rigorous. I'm basically asking if you are required to know a lot of information before stepping into the class.

Organic chemistry isn’t easy anywhere, but I found the class to be reasonable. I took 2 years of chem in high school (including a semester of organic) and took the AP test after my junior year. I took orgo my sophomore year of college and was able to jump into it without any problems.

Orgo is fairly different from the inorganic chemistry you study in general chemistry. There are a lot of inorganic concepts that are only tangentially relevant to what you’ll cover in an intro organic chemistry course. Is there some sort of self-assessment somewhere online about what you should know after a college gen chem course that you could make sure you have the basics down solid before starting orgo?

Since you are not getting an answer from a student from Northeastern, why not try their facebook page and post a question or message them. They may be able to answer you. It’s helped me with other schools
