Orientation and STAR Day

Is Summer Orientation for transfer students just a tour of the campus and STAR day is when you meet with you adviser and discuss which classes to take am i right? i was a little confused. When is STAR day does anyone know? I already registered for Orientation on June 13 but i don't know when STAR day is exactly..

STAR day is when you will sit down with academic advisors and select your classes. You will learn how to use our online registration tool, webreg, which you will use for all subsequent semesters.

Orientation is not just a tour of the campuses, it will introduce you to all aspects of life at Rutgers and help prepare you to do well here. Rutgers is a huge school with many resources, but you have to know where and how to find them. Orientation will help you with all these things so that once you get to Rutgers you will succeed. I used to be an orientation leader for Rutgers so I can say with some confidence that you will learn about learning centers, libraries, services for students, transportation, and the opportunities that are available to Rutgers students. There may be a tour component, but if I remember correctly at transfer orientation you get to choose which sessions you would like to attend. The tour wouldn’t be mandatory, although I would recommend it.
