can my financial aid pay the orientation fees?
or do i have to pay them?
(i have a full ride..so ehh)

I’m pretty sure the orientation fee is just tacked onto your bill for the first quarter. So you don’t have to pay it before hand.

soo
im sorry im a bit slow
financial aid will cover it? :

no orientation is a separate fee. fin aid wont cover it, but it will cover the rest of you bill for the first quarter. i believe there was a fee reduction for orientation, but it’s been a while for me. google it.

Checkout this page for all the information on the orientation fee(s):
[UCLA Orientation Program](http://orientation.ucla.edu/trcosts.htm)

Quick summary:
Cost: $125
It is tacked onto your November bill. You can get it waived if you qualify.

The above site does not say whether or not you can use a scholarship for the orientation fee or not. I would imagine you could somehow do that though. You’d have to contact the financial aid department to make an arrangement like that.

orientation for first years is $365

wow I totally used the wrong link, i need to read titles next time.
Yes, sid3000 is right, i’m wrong. use his link not mine.

haha no issue. I was actually wondering how I was gonna pay the 300+ as well then I saw your cost breakdown and was like lolwut?

Interesting how the transfers fee is cheaper. And their orientation is only a day. Why do you think that is? Strictly to register for classes and maybe a quick tour? Is the first years one supposed to be more meaningful because of the initial exposure to college or something?

wow 365$ for the orientation is too much What do we get to do for 365$ and is the parents orientation free?

Yeah I guess the transfer just get a quick tour, maybe meet with a counselor or something then go home.
For first year students it’s an opportunity to meet people, take placement exams, get acquainted with college life in general and UCLA more specifically, etc etc.

And considering $365 pays for 2 nights of room, 3 days of food, and everything else. I would say it’s a reasonable price, at least not overpriced. Still expensive though.
