I'm about to go to an orientation on Friday (Late, I know, due to busy life schedules), and I'm wondering if I can take another person, such as my older sibling or parent with me to orientation. And if I can, do I have to pay for that person or something?

I ask this because I recently had surgery and I don't feel all that well.

Thanks in advance

New Student Orientation - University of Maryland
I believe it said that it costs $60 for a parent to attend. I think you ought to call them to find out for sure, though. Hope you feel better soon.

I have tried that before, but it won't let me view any other information besides the fact that I have already paid and scheduled for an orientation. Every time I click on something else, it takes me back to that same page saying the same thing =

Hey, I'm the Student Coordinator of Orientation, and here's the deal.

There are no more separate parent/family Orientations left for Winter orientations. You can bring a family member or friend to Orientation and they can sit in for the welcome program (speaker, video, presentation), and then depending on the college, they may be able to sit in on that college's presentation. They may not go into advising with you, and I suggest that they go check out Stamp Student Union or the library to pass the time while you is in advising (usually after lunch--oh, and they won't be allowed to eat the lunch because your orientation fee pays for it). Then you can meet up with them after you have registered for classes. There is no extra charge.
