Orientation Tomorrow

And I have no Idea what classes to take. I've already figured out one class and that's the mandatory Oakes class. I've figured I'm going into some kind of business major. so what classes should i take for that? But i might change my mind, so what classes can I take for someone who is still undecided?

And do i have to take the Math Placement exam?

From the email we got:

Who should plan on taking the Math Placement Exam at Summer Orientation?
Students who have not completed a transferable college or university math class, who did not complete an AP Calculus exam with a score of 3 or higher, and who are considering any of the following majors should take the Math Placement Exam at Summer Orientation:
• All majors in the Baskin School of Engineering
• All majors in the Physical and Biological Sciences
• Any Economics major
• Environmental Studies
• Transfer students in Psychology

Either Econ 1 or 2 would be a good elective because it is required for business majors and also fulfills a GE. Plus, spots are open. You should focus on getting some GEs out of the way. Maybe take your art class or something if you’re undecided.

You’ll talk to counselors tomorrow though, so don’t worry too much.

Alright thanks guys. And my orientation is Wednesday. ahaha. Eop program is tomorrow. Thanks again. :D

How do we know if we’re in EOP?

My Student Center’s Student Advising Summary says Educational Opportunity Prgrm under Student Groups… but I haven’t really received any information about it.

@Snowbee you should either call them or send them a email. That’s how I found out. Most likely you did get accepted though. It says that on my portal too!

Ohh, we had to apply for EOP? I’m probably not in EOP then, because I never got the mandatory EOP program invitation.

You applied by checking off a box on the UC app lol

If you indicated that you’re an “underrepresented minority” then they probably signed you up regardless of what you put. I distinctly remember not checking EOP on my app, but I did tell them my race, and guess what? I get EOP newsletters.

=/

Take either Econ 1 or 2 for GE, a math course towards your major, or an easy computer course such as CMPE 3 or CMPS 2. I definitely prefer CMPE 3 though.
