So I was wondering what is there to expect at Orientation?
- what should we bring (if we sleep there)
- what should we expect during Orientation
- what's the Welcome Bash all about

thank you!

thank you!

1- I slept in a hotel, so I just brought all the basics. I would imagine its the same for the dorms

2- You should expect lots and lots of boring information. Seriously. It definitely could have been one day instead of two. It was a lot of meet and greet crap and information on buildings and stuff, which you won’t remember until you actually have to find it one day next year. For example, they may tell you where Howard Phillips Hall is, but you won’t really remember it until you have to find it out of necessity for an adviser appointment or something

3- I didn’t go to it, too freakin tired from the day of fun and exciting information. Unless you have friends that are at the same orientation session as you, I wouldn’t go. Even then, maybe. My friends and I went to one of our hotel rooms and just hung out there. But I guess you could always check it out.

Day two of orientation is much better. Its shorter and you start getting into picking classes and stuff.

Thanks domrom1 ! So people can come and chill in the dorms too those nights? (since you have to arrive the night before the 1st day too)
And do you think there’s a possible way of knowing who you room with at Orientation before it?

Sorry, can’t answer either of those. Like I said I stayed off campus at a hotel, so I pretty much did what I had to do and went back to the hotel.

I’m sure you can call UCF and they’ll answer the questions for you

I skipped half a day the first day because I was too tired. I had to make it up the second day by going to a 15 minute meeting. Skip what you can, to be honest. It’s a waste of time. Don’t skip the second day, it’s important. I still can’t believe they extended this crap into two days. I think maybe 4-5 hours of orientation is enough. Anything more than that is just ridiculous.

^ completely agree. Me and my friends were saying that exact thing. There was an incredible amount of wasted time that cudda easily been dropped. Oh well, its over now.
