orientation

What was orientationl like, what was fun about it and what was boring about it?? Oh and what are theain things you need to bring with u for orientation??

Oh gosh, my orientation was so long ago, I don’t remember it really well. I believe we met at the Cole Student activities building where we signed in and received some goodies and free breakfast. We also had a few welcoming speeches by the faculty and students. I believe one student made a speech about his sole reason for choosing UMD was for their chocolate milk. Lol. Anyways, they explained how our day would be. I believe we first split up into our assigned colleges, mine was ARHU. We went to a classroom where we got to know each other. We were then taken on a tour around campus together. Later, we were all given individual schedules to meet the heads of the department for our major. Since my major was Japanese, I went to meet Mr. Ramsey at Jimenez. Afterwards, I was free to do whatever.

And that’s all I remember. I may be missing some things. You know, you have a chance to stay a night in a dorm the night before the orientation. You have to register for it early to ensure a spot. I was too late so I couldn’t do it.

Welcome to UMD!

Oh wow thanx. How long was the orientation an when do u start school

@bishopgurl, what orientation date are you signed up for?

@marversity I’m going to 12 grade

Why are you asking about orientation, then?

There is nothing wrong with asking questions about college

:-@

There isn’t, but there’s no point asking now. Orientation itineraries could change. Plus, colleges inform you of pretty much everything for orientation (what to bring, what you’ll do, etc.) … once your orientation date is actually near (which it isn’t).

I personally had fun at my orientation.

:-@ u people r rude. I was just wanted to know about orientation thats all…

Sorry if that came out as being snarky. You just have senior year to look forward to. You still have to get accepted to schools, as well.

Ok

Thank u

The orientation took half the day I believe. I did the orientation back in February 2011. I’m a Junior at the University right now, so I’ve been here for awhile.

Did u make a lot of new friends at orientation??

My orientation was an overnight orientation. 8 am one day until 2:30 the next day. I definitely made friends (I’m from out-of-state, so I didn’t know anyone in the first place like some people would).
