So I know that there are dates for orientation in June, July and August. I was planning to go to the one in June because I will probably have conflicts in July and August is rather late. However, I realized that my new AP scores won't be in yet, and I am taking several that can get me out of classes that I may need my first year. Should I wait until after I get them to go?

While you do generally work out your schedule at orientation, they have you register for classes under the assumption that any courses you will attempt to get AP credit (or other credit) will be accepted. Thus, they’ll assume that you’re going to receive satisfactory scores on your APs, though if your scores aren’t satisfactory, you’ll need to contact your advisor to have your schedule adjusted accordingly.

Okay, great. Thanks!

Hi, I have another question… does it matter what date you sign up for orientation? Will there be less of a chance that you’ll get the classes you want if you go to the later date or are there any other detrimental things that would happen? thanks!

Are you allowed to sign up yet?

And good point on the APs, I hadn’t thought of that. When do the AP scores come out? I remember paying to hear them on the phone sooner than they were mailed, I guess you can get them a little earlier if you don’t mind being a sucker and doing it that way.

Edit: you only choose for first semester, right? So any APs that affect anything later than that shouldn’t matter for orientation?

I sort of remember AP results coming in mid-July… does that seem right?

Ya AP tests are mailed mid-July. And I’m pretty sure that you only can get it by phone on like July 1st, so basically a major rip off. I think I heard (from administrators of the facebook page) that you can start signing up in about a week or so.

Actually test are in a week or so. Sign up was months ago :/

I think the sign up was referring to the orientation! And yeah, it’s July 1 when you can get the scores on the phone, so it must just be a few weeks later when they come by mail. I was impatient, so I called last year. This year maybe not so much … I’ll try not to waste the money!

oops… :/

No need for oops, it was helpful to be reminded that the tests are coming up, we paid for five of them this year, and haven’t seen our daughter studying at all!
