<p>How important is orientation? Is there an alternative way where I can take the placement tests and register for classes without having to pay $300?</p>

<p>There’s make-up orientation during the 1st week of school that doesn’t cost anything. Also, if you don’t go to orientation, I believe you’ll have to wait until Pass 2 (which is in August) to register, and the school sends you materials to help you with the registration process.</p>
<p>The main reasons I’m going to orientation are to pick up my ID card and register for classes. If you skip orientation, you have to register in the late summer/fall and chances are you won’t get in to much.</p>
