^^^
i fully agree with ckings86 on 8am classes. in college everyone starts at 10am earliest unless you have some weeder class like econ at 8am on the other side of campus.

"Um...as for the clues, I think they gave lists of things/locations/buildings that the groups had to find. "

yea there were set clues already. i think most of them were in semi-riddle format. it's a group activity.. the group has to take a picture of themselves in front of the location/building that they find. it all takes place on campus... but campus is still pretty big haha. my group came in 4th and it took us about an hour... running. lol.

Actually, when you are prompted by my.ucla.edu to sign up for orientation, you should be able to sign up then if you still haven't received anything in the mail. But, definitely check your my.ucla.edu page frequently because there will be a link on there to the orientation sign-up page as soon as sign-ups for orientation begin.

Yeah... I wouldn't like to take an 8am class if I had the choice. But I'm one of those people who could manage if there weren't any other options; I enjoy waking up early.

Who knows how things will change in college, though...

That's the only reason I'm actually taking 8am classes this quarter - I had no other option. I had a seminar that I HAD to take for a group that I'm in and it conflicted with the later Math 31B lecture so I told myself to bare with it and take the 8am lecture. Oh well, it's not too terrible. Though there are some perks, for example the lecture hall not being crowded since about 2/3 of the class does not show up. I also like to think of it as giving those of us who actually do go to lecture, an extra advantage for midterms and the final since we'll have a better idea of what questions the professor likes to ask are. My professor even made a comment in class last week about wanting to put the exact problems that he does as examples during lecture on the exam just to see who does better, those that go to lecture vs. those that don't... I personally hope that he decides to do that...Lol!
