Who else is excited?

I can't wait!

I'm shocked at how quickly the summer passes when you work full time

I'm mostly nervous, but I'm moving in the direction of excited.

does anyone know whats planned?

party on a old ship, party at the Met i think, and the typical college info sessions and fairs

not the Met but MoMA...The Intrepid is awesome, especially if you're into aircraft.

oh right Moma

this is a very stupid question, but what the heck is an RA?

resident assistant. . . older student who lives in your dorm

yeah an informal advisor that you can go to for advice, help with classes and such

can't wait!

woohoo, orientation schedule up on NSOP site!

lol, yeah...I've been checking the site daily :)

FYI, mandatory doesn't mean mandatory. You're an adult (or supposedly one), and nobody takes attendance or sends you to the principal's office or calls your parents. Everyone figures this out after a few days. Some of the mandatory stuff is brutally painful and incredibly useless. Go to the stuff you're interested in.

do people hit up the bars and clubs during orientation? i read the schedule and it seems loosely structured.....

Yes, plenty of people start partying that first week (first time in NYC, first time away from home, etc.). There's nothing at night that you should / need to do, for the most part. Someone will probably get drunk for the first time and puke all over the place.
