For those that went to the July 9th transfer orientation, what was the schedule like for the day?

haha i conveniently have my schedule right by my desk :)

7-8:15 check ins–i got there around 7:30 and was waiting around for awhile. So, unless you need a tour of the school, which they start giving at 7:15, I wouldn’t get there tooo early.

8:30 university welcome (speeches from a couple important people)

9:15 academic expectations (separated by schools); this is actually really helpful if you’re not familiar with or sure about your major, or are debating taking a minor, going abroad, etc.

10:45 Campus Services Presentation (reps from health services, housing, public safety, etc talk about their stuff)

11:45 Students go to a student life discussion. This is where you can ask your Orientation Leaders (current students) ANYTHING about usc.

12:30 Students Services Expo–a bunch of tables are set up by various groups, clubs, etc for info purposes. Ex: Greek life, study abroad, sga, and campus recreation.

1: Lunch (with your academic advisors and people from your major.

2: Students: Academic Advisement and Registration; my advisor took us on a kind of tour of the offices we’ll be visiting a lot and went over our potential schedules and what he thought we should schedule. Then we went in a computer room and made them!

4: Students Success Workshop: Choose one out of: Mapping out your Career Path; Paying for College; USC Greek Life; Student Involvement…These are only if you’re done registering for classes

4: International Student Orientation…its mandatory…can’t tell you what went on there haha

New Student Reception at the pizza place across the street

Oh and anything after registration is pretty much optional I just went shopping at the bookstore and left haha. But a lot of people stayed, so it’s up to you.

Thank you!!

[Welcome to the USC Orientation Programs Website](http://sait.usc.edu/orientation/)

The orientation website has the schedule for orientation as well as FAQ.

@sclove that sounds fun! were you able to meet a lot of people during orientation? or people from your major at least?

the fun parts were definitely fun, but if you already know a lot about what they’re talking about it gets boring haha. the expo was my fave :)

andd yeah i met a couple people in my orientation group, and almost everyone from my major…there were only a few though so…haha you’ll have a good time :)

expo was the student success workshop right?

no the expo’s the one where there’s a bunch of tables set up for different clubs and organization and you walk around and find the ones that look interesting to you

they give out a bunch of free stuff and the reps are really helpful! if you’re coming from a 4year, im pretty sure every school has it at the beginning of the year
