Hey, Prospect, dontcha get it yet? You're not one of the "original 13"!!!

Hi everyone! This has been the longest winter ever; December 15th seems like it was a year ago.

Since the Yale deferral my son has been waitlisted at Wash U so we haven't exactly gotten encouraging news:eek:

He also applied to
Oberlin
Swarthmore
Columbia
Harvard
Princeton
Penn

Over the last six weeks he's become more interested in Columbia than he originally was but at this point I think he'll be happy just to know that anyplace wants him.... I guess he'll find out in 11 more days.

It's nice that some of you who have already been accepted to Yale have remembered the rest of the EA posters. To those of you still waiting, I've got my fingers crossed for all of you.
andi

sorrrrryyyy... :(

I was deferred from Yale as well...
So far my list is:

Accepted:
UT Business School

Dont Know:
Harvard
Stanford
Cornell
Brown
JHU
Rice
Upenn

Rejected:
MIT

Obviously looking forward to the 31st/1st

So, I was sitting at the computer thinking about how many fewer posts I have done since December, and figured "what the heck," I might as well post something.

Remember all of the good times we had, the late nights (I am a couple of hours earlier than the east coast, so often I was alone), the figures and statistics crunched?

How has life been since for everyone? I know things always seem to be busy. Mostly, its just nice to talk here, get back in the swing of things like they used to be in preparation for the next few weeks.

Nice talking to you all again,
Nickleby

hey all... sorry iplayoboe... that list is clearly obsolete and anyone who applied EA should post.

For me... so far, I'm waiting on Harvard and Princeton for April 1. Thankfully, I won't be as stressed as I was in Dec

Rumbean22- It was obviously a mistake. "Original 13"? This is not an elitist club. It's so great to see everyone posting together happily again! ::memories::

Hi Andi! And "Hi!" to Berujah, if you're still reading this.

Congrats on your senior member status (is that still a feat anymore? heh), Davidrune.

I love how everyone followed the call... sigh.

chidimma,

Thanks for remembering me and my son! Since the EA rejection, my S has been accepted to:

UMich Honors Program
University of Miami (Bowman Foster Ashe Scholarship--3/4 tuition per year)
University of Kansas (our State U.) (still awaiting finaid award)

He was waitlisted, along with a bajillion others at WashU.

Still Pending--
Brown
Cornell
UPenn
JHU
Duke
Stanford

After our elite college application experience, we are most certainly not counting on anything else coming through, although my son is more than qualified to attend any of those fine institutions.

To all of the Yale EA folks with whom I became acquainted on this forum in the fall---it's great to "see" you, and I so hope that absolutely WONDERFUL things happen for each and every one of you!!

much love, ~berurah and son

But yeah, for the FUTURE Yale applicants, once us "original 13" or however many rejected/deferred applicants find out on the 31/1, we NEED to set up a thread that says where we will be going.

I have a feeling it will be a good thread ;)!

ivyboy- and a lot less stressed-out :)

hey, i was around in the EA massacre as well. umm theres been some good news: accepted at U of Michigan, likelied at Dartmouth. Otherwise, i've applied to:
Harvard
Penn (Wharton)
Princeton
Columbia
Brown
Cornell
Stanford

waitin for March 31 (though stanford doesnt do online, damn them!)

I don't think I'd call it a massacre...
I got into SUNY Binghamton and Geneseo, Wellesley (likely), and Amherst (early write). Still waiting for:
Harvard
Princeton
Brown
Columbia
and still Yale
and UChicago, too, but I don't care anymore since Amherst

I haven't really been on CC for a while - and shouldn't be on at the moment, as I have an as-yet-unwritten AP English paper due tomorrow...

I'm like David - I'm waiting on Harvard and Princeton next week. (Congrats on Amherst, by the way!)

Lindsey - I'm so excited for you, and am still crossing my fingers that you'll get good news from Yale next week. I knew you would have an impressive list of options, and I'm betting Yale will be on that list. :) Congratulations so far!

Good luck to everyone...I'll try to be on more the next week and a half.

"I haven't really been on CC for a while "

try months!.......You need to get back on!!!!! I need emotional support...lol

hehe...sorry. I'm the student director of my school's theatre program (and yes, theatre students spell it with an "re"), and our spring musical is fast approaching. I hardly have time to breathe most of the time, let alone post on CC - which reminds me, AP English paper...

Oh, and I posted one thing a few weeks ago...but that was it.

BTW, have you heard anything from W&M or any others yet?

i always spell it "-re"...i was in The Wiz....in 8th grade...it was such a good show :)
