Hello,

I am new to this community, so if I broke any rules in this post, please be sure and let me know.

That said.

I am a fifteen year old kid (I don’t like using that term… It has a bad connotation) and I am a sophomore at an online academy known as Ohdela. My GPA freshman year was pretty bad, due to slacking off. It ended up being a 3.45. Not anywhere near where my grades are most generally. (I have been an A student all of my life)
Now in my sophomore year I have straight A’s and my gpa is a 4.0, I am taking geometry/Algebra 2. I plan on taking advantage of the Post Secondary program offered by my academy. I will be attending Columbus State my junior and senior year, using the pathways program offered by them.
To get to my inquiry. If I manage to pull a 4.0 these next three years, my gpa will be approximately a 3.87. I most generally do exceptionally in standardized testing. My friends who attend a brick and mortar school all have GPA’s in the 4.4-4.7 range due to honors courses, and AP courses not offered by my school. So I have become rather depressed because my GPA will never be above 3.87. And the work I do at Columbus state these next few years will be all for not, as far as my GPA is concerned.
I would like to be a Computer Science Major, or an Aeronautics Major, but I have not yet decided. Regardless of my Major, despite my shortcomings, and lack of access to more advanced classes. Do you think with my GPA, and work at the College in a PSEO environment will allow me to be accepted into OSU.
Second question, let’s say I pull a 3.8 GPA, I score a 28-32 on my ACT, and attend Columbus state for two years, what kind of colleges do you think I would be eligible to attend?

(Just a side note, I am extremely interested in politics, and I want to pursue a career in that area. The political scene does not require you to be a lawyer, as it generally depends on popularity, and how well people know you, on the local level. Which degree do you think would better benefit me? As a rocket scientist would sound more appealing than a computer scientist… lol My rationale for that last comment is Dr. Ben Carson, he is a Neuro Surgeon who is also a political activist.

Also, you don’t want a lawyer being your representative, they are taught to win by hook or crook. =D)

Thank you everyone,
Most Sincerely,
Mathew J. K.
