OSU Fisher Logistics management v industrial engineering - supply chain management

Any thoughts on business school program in logistics management ? I know is highly ranked .My son is interested in supply chain and is trying to figure out if he wants to do business school or industrial engineering . He has background to do either but think he might enjoy business school more. He is direct admit at Fisher and would do engineering if he chooses it at a different school. So trying to pick between schools and majors right now. Thanks for any advice at all about business school program and internships and job prospects. Also about industrial engineering. Thanks !

My child is graduating fro Fisher with his BA specialization in Operations Management. He started in engineering. Operations is the business degree side that mostly correlates with industrial engineering. He has really enjoyed it, had a great internship last summer and has a job offer upon graduation.
Logistics and Operations are very highly ranked at Fisher/OSU.

@Lenoir

Thanks so much ! We couldn’t tell the difference between operations and logistics . Hopefully once he starts classes in his major he can have a better grasp of it. I assume they will let them switch at fisher if he decides one is more suited for him .

He will be OOS so he trying to decide if he can go for it and make new friends and get the benefit of what OSU and fisher can offer him.

All these years of math and science and he is trying to decide between engineering and business track. I think he would be happier with business at this point . The real choice is between engineering at instate school and fisher or actuarial science/ data analytics at OSU cause of the way we applied.

Both would be great. Aid at each.

Thanks again.

Yes. I do believe that you can switch specialties within Fisher relatively easily as long as you meet requirements. Of course that would be a question for his advisor. My son easily switched from engineering to the business school.
Since everyone graduates with BS in business administration he will be taking all core classes the first two years. Specialty classes do not start until junior year so no problems keeping on track with a change within the business school.
There is plenty of math and statistics in the business school.

Thanks so much !
