Hey! I was wondering if any current students could help me out. I’ve been looking through the different dorms and found the one I really want to live in, Buckeye Village 2 bd for 2 people, and I was wondering how hard it is to request a select dorm. I’m really claustrophobic and OCD so I’d prefer having my own space. I can manage if I do not get the room, but it would be a lot easier for me. Thank you for your help!

Will you be a freshman? I’m surprised that you would choose Buckeye Village, because it places you so far away from other freshmen, and campus in general. You’d be busing to and from campus, and not living with many people your own age-- more like a lot of older international students. I seriously suggest you choose some other option.

To answer your original option, I believe getting your first choice is more likely the more quickly you send in your housing request, but not everyone gets their first choice. I did, and most of my friends did, but I know a few people who didn’t.

Alright, thank you! Yes I’ll be a freshman. I’m still iffy on housing, but I like the space buckeye village dorms have. Ill have to go back through and look again! What housing would you recommend?

I would recommend traditional freshmen housing that is actually on campus. If I wasn’t clear enough before, I would like to emphasize that Buckeye Village is actually pretty far from campus, and not really close enough for walking, so most students who live there take a bus to and from campus. This is inconvenient, I think, and only appeals to people who don’t want to be involved on campus, with clubs, sports, and other activities. All of the dining halls are also on campus.

If you want to understand where in relation to campus the apartments are, check this out: <a href=“Google Maps”>Google Maps;

If you look here: [Residence Halls : University Residences and Dining Services](<a href=“Page Not Found : Housing and Residence Education”>Page Not Found : Housing and Residence Education) and here: [Gallery : University Residences and Dining Services](<a href=“Gallery : Housing and Residence Education”>Gallery : Housing and Residence Education) there is plenty of information on the different dorms you can choose. If you are in honors or scholars there are special dorms or floors for you to choose from, but otherwise students tend to choose a dorm based on layout (2 person or 4 person, hall bathroom or in-room bathroom) and location on campus. I personally liked the layout of the honors dorm where I lived, Lincoln house, and Morrill is the same layout.

I think you have to be graduate/professional/non-traditional/upperclassman or have a family to live in BV?
