Which school has a better reputation? I got into both colleges, Fisher’s college of business with a BS in BA major, and an Economics major for UMD in their College of behavioral and social sciences. i’ve always thought UMD was a better academic institution than OSU but i’m not really sure because things have changed over the past few years? any advice as to what school i should go to? oh and I got the National Buckeye Scholarship ($8,700/yr for 4 yrs) for OSU so that might help as well but i’m afraid that OSU may be too big for me and i don’t want to feel like no one at All…

We are from Maryland but considering OSU. Business Week publishes recruiter rankings for undergraduate business schools that ranked MD at #66 and OSU at #23. U.S. News ranks MD #19 and OSU #7. I’m sure there are many rankings out there that could sway you one way or the other, but you will get a good education at both schools. I’ve also heard that some of MD business classes are taught up at the Shady Grove campus and you might have to shuttle up there so you might want to check into that more. Hopefully you visited both places to see which place you like best.

^I don’t remember which thread I read it in (you can probably just google “OSU political science”), but OSU has one of the best political science departments in the country. I believe it was ranked 5th for American politics.

i dont know much about osu business school, but i do know several people in UMD business school who say it is the bomb.
also doing umd vs. osu (i think those are my final 2 which is terrifying…) for spanish and international relations/poly sci

well because i’ve received two scholarships from OSU (NBS and excellence in MSP), it’s pretty much settled i’ll go to OSU over UMD. Thanks for the advice everyone!

and keep posting on this thread if theres any questions about decision making

I would think being closer to DC (UMCP) would be better for political science if both depts are relatively equal. There are always a ton of events in DC of interest for the polisci major.
