I was rejected from Shenandoah too, but I hated it.
I seriously hated everything about it.
I can't believe it was your D's first choice, I felt like they didn't have anything to offer.
I don't know about you all but word on the street is the wait may be even longer for acceptances letters because tomorrow's audition is canceled.
It's just a rumor,
Good Luck everyone!
You'll all end up in the right place.

Today's audition for Acting majors was indeed cancelled. But we're working on rescheduling it for later this week. The last audition for MT is still on for March 15, and we're still planning on putting together a class and getting letters out no later than April 1, as promised.

Got the Otterbein letter on Saturday.....a no go! Oh well. One more left. Hartt!

And Fierce.....it was not her initial 1st choice i have to clarify, it was the first choice of those that were left to still send letters. It was still probably in the top 5 of her list. My D did not pick a top school, for fear of being let down, which was kinda good, I guess. Therefore the rejections didn't hurt as much. She only wanted to get into a MT program, and we did that with her SUNY School. I think she is going to buckle down, work harder and smarter and re apply. Which is fine with us, and her! :)

Operagirl...I'm sorry to hear about Otterbein, but...as you said...the right place is there for her and it sounds like ya'll all have a great perspective on it.

DS auditioned out there on March 1 and got the "you're still being considered" letter late last week (maybe on Saturday?). :) He's very happy! Everyone was just wonderful - from the B&B practically on campus to the admissions folks, etc.

Randomly, DS and another auditioner who were in the last group to audition and therefore "late" to get lunch were invited to join a couple of non-theatre students (math major and music (?) major) to eat. Then the two current students offered a campus tour - they saw everything. It was totally impromptu and very friendly - and extremely appreciated! :-D

My friend, an acting major, auditioned today at Otterbein.
She loved it and said they got to watch MT majors AND Acting majors perform (Lucky!)
She said they were told acceptance letters will be going out as early as next week?
I wonder if that's true?

FierceMTHopeful, a few posts up from your last one, doctorjohn says that after the March 15 audition, they will be choosing their class and will hope to get letters out no later than April 1. Early next week seems a little soon, I would think, unless doctorjohn and company hole up in their offices all weekend and order in pizza. :)

I could buy the pizza for them if it would help this process move along:) LOL!! Maybe END of next week...fingers crossed! They are the one school that has been so good about keeping everyone posted.

My D and I were there yesterday at auditions and they told us that the letters would be going out by the 29th. I am very glad we don't have to wait a long time.
Rhonda

Well, I'm still not sure.
But it is very believable. If I'm not wrong, Otterbein is on spring break this week so there's time to make decesions.
I checked the thread for last years acceptance and there was a post on 3-22 of an acceptance, which would have been a Thursday.
We'll have to see!
Best of Luck to everyone, you'll all end up in the right place!

Break begins this Thursday, finals, juries, etc continue through Wednesday. So the faculty do have a lot on their plate. Chances are, considering the traditional spring break and holiday services, etc this week for many involved, the process will take some time.

What I can say is the mails flow very differently depending on your location, but Otterbein makes their best effort to be timely and, also, react in a timely manner to any offers not actually accepted. Wishing all of you well as you wait to hear.

Ok, thanks. I knew everyone would get a mailed response, but just wondered if those who get in get word before that or not. Guess "not" is the answer:)

WOW--this weekend????? I was just thinking how nice it was for it to be a weekend, and in particular a SUNDAY, and so we didn't have to focus so much on the mail and e-mail. Good luck to everyone this week. This should wrap things up for many!

Well, the school of music is different from the school of theater and dance (where MT is located). Their acceptances probably have nothing to do with each other. She's not the first to find out either, they are rolling.
We'll know our fate hopefully by the end of this week. April 1 is getting closer!

I know of at least one other kid who has already been accepted into the voice major and that was some time ago, so, no, I don't think MT and acting acceptances are tied to the music acceptances. But it won't be long now ...
