ALL STUDENTS
This weekend, OU will be celebrating the annual Mom’s Day and one of the highlights of the weekend is the Mom’s Day Tea hosted by First Lady Molly Shi Boren. The event will occur on Saturday, April 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Historic Boyd House. First Lady Molly Shi Boren invites students and their families to historic Boyd House to tour the home. Even if your family cannot make it for the weekend, students are encouraged to attend. No reservations are needed.
The Campus Activities Council (CAC) Mom’s Day will be hosting free events throughout the weekend for all students, families, faculty, staff and guests. We encourage everyone to come even if your family cannot make it. A schedule of events is below.
FRIDAY, APRIL 17
Housing Fair (9 a.m. - 3 p.m. | Will Rogers Room, Oklahoma Memorial Union) Various housing complexes from Norman will be here to answer any questions you may have about housing options. Stop by their tables for free giveaways!
Mom’s Day Cookout (5 p.m. | Walker-Adams Mall) Come enjoy a cookout with a live DJ, free food, and the presentation of the International Parent of the Year and Mother of the Year awards! This event is come and go and a great way to kick-off the weekend. Rain location will be at the Henderson-Tolson Cultural Center. No reservations required.
Night at the Huff (7 p.m. | Huston Huffman Center) Show off our fitness and recreational facilities to your family and friends. This event will feature basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and a Zumba class, as well as free giveaways and a DJ! Families and guest are welcome to attend with student and their student ID.
SATURDAY, APRIL 18:
Yoga on the South Oval (9 a.m. | South Oval) Start the morning off with a relaxing yoga session on the South Oval Lawn from 9 - 10:15 a.m. The first 15 people will receive a free OU yoga mat, but bring a yoga mat just in case you do not receive one.
Mom’s Day Tea (2 p.m. | Historic Boyd House) OU First Lady Molly Shi Boren invites you to the annual Mom’s Day Tea at Historic Boyd House. Everyone is invited, even if your family cannot make it in! This is a must see for all OU students, faculty and staff. No reservations are needed and parking can be found directly behind Boyd House.
Stompdown Showcase (8 p.m. | McCasland Field House) Join the Black Student Association and the National Panhellenic Council as we present the Stompdown Showcase featuring student performances, DJ mixes by DJ YOameriKENdream of Knight Life Society, Josh Sallee, and headliner Dom Kennedy!
Night at the Union (5 p.m. | Oklahoma Memorial Union) Join us for the inaugural Mom’s Day Night at the Union presented by Sooner Parents. Free food, trivia night, bingo, Dine and Palette art class, local area vendors, and the 70’s and 80’s cover band, Superfreak, will all be a part of fun-packed night. All events are free and open to everyone. Please note that the Dine and Palette art class is limited to 30 participants each session. Sessions for the Dine and Palette will be at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
