Ironically, that is what my Dad does for an investment firm - keep the servers functioning. I never saw how truly vital it was until CC went down 
without CC how else am I going to procrastinate doing the homework I should be doing at college 2+ years after being accepted?!

If it was an April Fools joke, we were victims too. 
Our server experts worked non-stop to get the site onto new hardware and back online. I know it seemed like forever, but trust me, they were working at break-neck speed.

Who says hardware cannot empathize ? The flood of emotions was just too strong.

Hello everyone on College Confidential. When I first found out that College Confidential was down @ around 5 PM, I thought it was an April Fool’s joke. Then when I went online when it was about 10:00 PM, College Confidential was up, but no one was online. My thoughts were, “Everybody got together to do a practical joke but I was never informed… CURSES!”
Roger, I want to tell you thank for you CC, too! Just last week, someone on a college board posted a link to a college co-op that will save us $5k/year in room and board! I have gotten so much wonderful information and encouragement on this site. I can’t believe it’s free! You guys do a great job.
Now I know why my kid did not get into Yale!
