@CCadmin_Sorin - here’s a specific example of how this is off-putting, and would be off-putting to me if I were here for the first time. I am on a desktop.
NEW posts are what gets new clicks, right? not older outdated posts (although they are very helpful) YOU need to show WAY more posts per page to not discourage your readers.
On the scholarships and financial aid page; for years there have been closed, locked, stickied important FAQs, etc. posts. In the past there were about 10 of them, you could see them all at once, and then see what the new posts were.
Now, when entering that page, I see posts that are all old with dates from 2014. 2015, 2017, some with last comment from 2018. I have to scroll five or six pages down to get to anything new.
I know they have good info that’s still slightly relevant. HOWEVER if I were there for the first time, I’d think this was all OLD and out of date; I probably wouldn’t scroll down to see anything new. I’d leave.
THATS because on the desktop there are only a few posts showing at one. How are you supposed to get more clicks if you don’t give options??? or show more?
Here is a breakdown of my screen as I type this. THERE IS NO ENTICEMENT FOR ME TO CLICK elsewhere. 9x18 inch window; Left side: 3x9 inches ALL WHITE 17 % of screen is BLANK…
FORUM BOX – 7.5 x 9; 42 PERCENT is for forum type.
RIGHT SIDE 42% again is blank, with a repeating video ad at the top.
If you want more clicks, and more people to see what’s going on and not be turned off by old posts, and get tired of scrolling down down down, you will need to eliminate the white space, have the posts run horizontally and show more per page.
