Gunna assume my personal statements carried me through the admissions committee…my stats aren’t amazing
D was accepted to all 6 UC’s she applied to : Berkeley, LA, Davis, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz
ACT: 35
UW GPA : 4.0
W GPA : 4.67
SAT II : Math II : 800, Chemistry : 790, Physics : 770
IB Diploma candidate
Hi there! I was accepted to UCLA, and the only other UC I applied to is Berkeley.
GPA: 4.2
SAT: 2110
I don’t really have a hook other than my mom, dad, and grandfather all went to UCLA, but I don’t think they consider legacy. I’m going to assume I got in from random chance, or that my personal statements were better than I previously thought.
UCLA
GPA: 4.5
ACT: 34
Environmental Science
I’ve gotten into every UC that I applied to so far that has released decisions: San Diego, Santa Barbara, Davis, Irvine, and Los Angeles. I am now waiting on Berkeley, my top choice. As for stats:
UC GPA: 4.5455
SAT: 2170 (690R, 770M, 710W)
ACT: 31 (Yeah, I know, pretty much slept through it).
SAT Math II: 780
SAT Literature: 600
Major: SD Management Science, SB Economics, D Economics (or something like that), I Business Administration, LA Pre-Business, B Undecided/Pre-Business.
As for extracurriculars, I had about 250-300 volunteer hours, a summer job as a secretary, JV Tennis, Varsity Mock Trial, and Varsity Science Olympiad. Also various awards such as Member of the Month for Key Club, and a National Merit Scholarship Commendation. My essays were lacking in terms of flair and diction, but when it came to answering the questions thoughtfully they were very good. Overall I wasn’t really expecting to get in since I panicked that I didn’t have many extracurriculars, but I realized my academic stats made up for that and I am in the Top 20 of one of the best California public schools.
Idk if you only want instate kids to comment on this, but I got into UCSD (waiting on Cal).
GPa: 3.9 unweighted (no clue what my UC GPa is)
SAT: 2230 (780CR/670M/780W)
SAT II: Lit (720) Bio E (730) Spanish (720)
My most notable ECs are probably that I’m the editor in chief of my schools newspaper, I run a language club that has integrated Middlebury Interactive into my school’s curriculum, I have a part time job as a cashier, I’ve racked up around 200 hours at a food pantry, and I studied abroad for a few months.
I thought my essays were decent but I’m hardly a reliable source!
My kid got into UCSD. Didn’t apply to LA or Irvine. (Waitlisted at Davis, waiting on Berkeley).
UC GPA of 4.03.
ACT 35
SAT mid-2100s
SAT 2: bio and math 2, low/mid 700s.

major - human biology (ucsd), similar at the others.
Accepted to UCLA, UCSD, UCB; I got accepted into bio-engineering for all of them
SAT I: single sitting 2220, super scored 2320 but I heard UC schools don’t super score
SAT Math II: 800
SAT Bio M: 770
SAT USH: 700
GPA: 4.3 W, 4.5 W senior year; 3.9 UW, 4.0 UW senior year
Good luck if you’re applying next year!
