out of hs for 2 years, how to prepare?

Ok, so I guess I'm an awful procrastinator, but I have decided somewhat last-minute to take the SAT Dec 1st and am unsure of the best way to prepare myself in three weeks.

I took the test once senior year of high school, without preparing at all, not even knowing my mom had signed me up to take it until a few days beforehand. I got cr760 m590 w590.

After two years out of high school, I am wanting to transfer and need better scores to be really competitive. Obviously I need to mainly focus on improving the writing and math. I just finished a English Composition course which has really helped me gain confidence with writing on the spot, but it's still not a huge strength. Besides general ability, are there any tidbits of advice for getting a great writing score?

The thing I am most concerned about is math. I've never been really good at anything besides geometry, but I haven't taken any kind of math course since high school. In fact, not since junior year I think. So basically I feel like I've forgotten everything. Are their any good sources to review everything the math section covers?

I'm going to keep searching through these SAT threads, I'm sure there's similar information somewhere, but if anyone could give me some specific advice, I'm starting to get pretty worried and would appreciate it oh so much.

Ah I gotta jump in and say this to you 1st, otherwise sb else will:

GET THE BLUE BOOK! If you've already had it, go over it thoroughly again.

alright, i ordered the book immediately... any other tips at all?

Math and writing can be improved through practiced. Luckily you seem to be already good at CR, which I think requires innate skill to do well on.

You got a 760 without practicing, very nice.

wow........i wish i had ur reading comp score.........i was much stronger in writing and math...........

Theres this book called bob miller's sat math for the clueless. It is a great friendly book that goes over everything you need to know for the math section with great explanations and a friendly tone. It helped me go from 550 to 710, so it should deff help you.

math for the clueless looks really helpful as a refresher.

which book would be best between kaplan's and barron's?

barron's..

thank you! any other last minute advice?
