Out of State Acceptance

Is there anyone from Georgia who got into UF, if so please sate your SAT, ACT, GPA, EC, Background, essay quality, etc.

In 2013, UF only had 516 students who are residents of Georgia (out of 50,000 students). In fact, we get as many students from New York State as we do from Georgia. UGA and GT are much more popular in-state options (w/state scholarships), than going OOS to UF. In fact, due to UF’s high OOS tuition, Auburn, UA and the Mississippi schools seem more popular with Georgia students. (All of which is to say you may not get a response in this forum, since Georgia residents are rare at UF!)

It’s not that much harder for an OOS student to be accepted to UF vs an in-state student. You should be able to use the 2014 Freshman profile as a target:

About 50% of UF admissions is based on GPA (most important), class rigor, test scores and essay. The other 50% is based on ECs, volunteer, leadership, work, etc. Admissions can seem a bit random.

Thank you so much Gator88NE!
