Out of State Freshman Dorm Advice

I will be an out of state student and was wondering what the most social all freshman dorms are? I was planning on applying for housing at the smaller all freshman dorms ( Hill,Boggs) because I figured since they are smaller it would easier to actually get to know other students? Is this a good idea or would you recommend housing in the sky rises (Mell, Brumby,Russell). Thanks in advance!

This has been discussed many times. I think that the old posts are still valid. Scroll through the old UGA threads and look for housing posts; there are some good ones.

You can change the display options to get to older posts at the bottom. Hope that this helps.

college P-RO-WL-ER(take out the dashes CC won’t let me say their competitor’s name) .com would be a better site for this kinda thing. Most of what’s on that site is bunk but the student reviews for housing and night life and stuff like that is probably more valid than anything else.

Freshman high rises are usually the most “social” but I’m not sure.

Good luck!

The high-rises (Creswell, Russell, and Brumby) would be considered the most “social,” but they also are considered the party ones and are very loud and noisey.

I live in a smaller dorm and love it! I literally have met almost everyone who lives there and it’s still very social, yet not as overwhelming and loud. Personally, I think it’s a good balance :)
