I have an outside scholarship, and the check is getting mailed to my house. So...where do I bring the check to on campus? And who should the check be made out to?

Also, since the check arrives after 8/15, when tuition is due for the fall semester, I will be using the money for housing. Do they just deduct the scholarship amount from the total amount owed for housing, then? Like, instead of having to pay the Sept/Oct/Nov/etc. installments, I just pay whatever's left?

If the scholarship is being mailed to you and is in your name, you dont really have to report it. All it will do is either take away loans or work study. You can just put the check in the bank and pay your housing through e-bill. But whats your fin aid package like?

I pretty much don't have finaid. But the scholarship check isn't in my name; it's made out to the school.

Ok, then yeah, just give it to the financial aid office and that will be sent to CARS. Then it will pay as much of CARS off as it can.
