I'm interviewing and touring around the campus next Friday. I was wondering if any student would be willing to host me that night?

Good idea to ask here because the W&M admissions office doesn’t arrange individual overnight visits. According to the website, there are some official events that include overnight visits (not sure what those are - maybe W&M Admissions will weigh in here).

The problem with doing an overnight on a Friday is that many students may not want to take on responsibility for a hs student/potential applicant on a weekend night. From your POV, you may not get an accurate impression of life at W&M, because students there celebrate the weekend in a wide range of styles, from epic drinking at a party to hanging out with friends to doing a service project - even studying as exams approach. So the wrong matchup might leave you with the wrong impression.

I’ll ask my d if she might know of someone who’d host an overnight and PM you if she does. Hope you love your tour of the school.

Ok thank you! I can’t wait to see the school; I’ve heard nmothing but great things about it. :)

Unfortunately we do not provide the opportunity to do an overnight visit through our office save a few invite-only programs we run. If you know a student who attends W&M you can stay with that person as his/her guest but otherwise an overnight is unlikely.

However, you may want to explore the Tribe Shadow Program ([William & Mary - Shadow a Tribe Ambassador](Shadow a Student | William & Mary)) which allows you to go to class and lunch with a current student. We are offering that opportunity this coming Friday. You can also check out our campus events calendar (events.wm.edu) and see if there are any Friday-night events you’d like to attend.

I just registered. But can I still do it if I need to do my interview at 2:00? I know it ends then, but is the ending building the same place where interviews are held?

I know the school can’t set up overnights, so I’m still looking if anyone on the boards knows of someone.

If not, I’ll see if any friends of friends (perhaps stuents who went to my high school and now go to W&M?) would be able.
