Overnight Stay Program

I got 2 e-mails too. The 1st one was a confirmation that I registered. The 2nd was telling me the program was full. I e-mailed the link to tell them not to sign me up for session #1 because I can only go to #2 and they e-mailed me back with "in the 1st minute we got 281 registrations and you were #48..." That e-mail said it filled up in 7 minutes.

how do u sign up??????????????

kinda late... it opened at 12, invitation only (for alumni scholarship applicants)

Who wants Harrison to be his/her guide? The last 5 or so emails were pretty funny.

I put some of the outlandish answers on that questionaire just so I could get someone interesting. Hope it works out.

I thought Harrison was pretty funny too.

I'm going April 21-22. I'm really nervous about the travel arrangements because I'm flying by myself up there and have never been up in NorCal. Watch...I'm going to get lost.

Hey oceangomute, when I came for OSP it was my first time in NorCal too, and I'm from LA (i.e., I didn't do public transportation). When you get your full packet there are instructions. What airport are you flying in to? SFO or Oakland? Let me know and I'd be happy to give you pretty much exact directions.

hey i really dont get the payment page... i fill everything out and hit submit, but nothing happens. is this happening for everyone else? i'm assumign i should see a confirmation page or something.

Who is going to 2nd session? I am flying up Sunday morning from San Diego to Oakland. Anyone else doing the same thing?

I'm flying up alone, 1st session, from LA, and I've never travelled alone.

Is anyone sticking around for Cal Day from first session and if so, when is your flight home? Do you guys think we'll meet people to hang out with on cal day?

alin88: if you go to the 4th or 5th e-mail there is a payment link that works.

anyone sticking around on cal day?

i will be flying into oakland saturday from Texas for the second session, but i'll be staying the night at Stanford before going to Berkeley.

"We have received your waiver of liability form. Your request is being carefully considered for the limited spaces available in the bridges Senior Weekend Program. Please check daily, for updated information."

Since it's so late in the game... should I just consider this a "no"? =( I'm sad. I really wanted to go. If not, there's no real reason for me to go to Berkeley over LA.

Oh wells. =)

Note to Toasty (who hasn't posted): Darn you ><

Wait, why do you say that if it's a "no," there's no reason for you to go to Berkeley instead of UCLA?

Well I've always wanted to go to UCLA since... I don't even know when, and it's only been recently that I've really considered going to Berkeley (though there's no compelling reason for me since it's more inconvenient location-wise). Right now, I'm still deciding, and I thought that going to the overnight might help me get a better idea of where I'm at. Since for me, LA is the frontrunner, without visiting Berkeley again I'll probably just attend LA.

Session #2 is SOOO inconvenient in terms of flight arrangement. My plane back to Minneapolis is at midnight. Gaaah.

Oh. well, while visiting and staying the night is better, visiting only can be a great idea. Some students choose to attend the closer of the two, some the further. Whichever you feel is best, that's fine, but you shouldn't count either out without a proper chance.

I've visited Berkeley twice before, lol, but those were during the month of Feb. so it wasn't really great weather, and I didn't get to see the dorms or experience the food. I'm still crossing my fingers for the trip though, even if it would make my decision harder. I want all the information I need to make the right choice (for me).

DRab, I just noticed your post count compared to mine. LOL. Just took me by surprise there. =p

hehe, yeah. shrug Respect my author ah tai?

One day can't really demonstrate how living at a place for four years will feel, but it's a start. At least you're conscious of the fact that you came in Feb both times, one of the poorer weather months. It seems like many are oblivious to things like this, and for a complete opinion based on very little.
