Overnight Stay Program

i'll be staying at the travelodge nearby monday night. is anyone else staying?

I think I'm in the first session. I'm flying up there thursday evening and will be back saturday night :/ If any of you are lonely and want to meet up, I'll be the guy in the UCLA sweatshirt XD.

Poor Bluepepsi, she didn't get it confirmed yet :(

If you have a chance to stay overnight at Cal, you definitely should! Walk around at about 11pm, and you will be AMAZED at the number of students that are milling about or simply grabbing a hot dog or a slice of pizza. Man, I missed those days...

Mmm. Top Dog.

we're serving Top Dog at OSP =)

Genius! Do cheesboard as well.

What is cheesboard?

Godliness.

The best pizza place ever.

Search the internet.

!!!!!!!!!!!! top dog!!!!!!!!

Cheesboard. Where can I find this place and top dog too???

The internet will tell you, or me right now. Southside Top Dog is on Durrant next to La Burrita, in between Bowditch and telegraph. Cheeseboard is on Shattuck on Northside, near the Bank of America and Sauls. Check the internet for the cheeseboard menu and hours. Top Dog is open who knows when in the morning (usually 10, I think, but i don't ever go then) to 2-3 at night (3 twice a week, Friday and Saturday nights). I just came back from there. Oh many, it's good stuff. oh, there are 8 top dogs total, 3 in Berkeley near campus (one West, one South, one North).

Where do you find this food stuff on the internet?

Search google for cheeseboard co op. Or "Berkeley food" or stuff like that.

How'd everyone like it there?

The program def. convinced me to go there, hoooray!

glad you liked it oceangomute! we worked really hard to put it together

I found out the Co-ed bathrooms are really not that big of a deal. You still have privacy in the showers and stuff. I was surprised, however, by how many pre-med majors there were. Almost every person I met was MCB pre-med.

Top Dogs really are the best! Didn't get a chance to try the pizza, but I am sure in the next 4 years the opportunity will be there.

I had a pretty good time with OSP... but I have to agree. EVERYONE seemed to want to be pre-med! It was kind of terrifying... and a little boring. But overall, good job. And Top Dog is delicious. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to go to Cal yet.. But I definitely am leaning to sending in my SIR now!

Meh...I'm a political economy major and public policy minor! And only one of the OSP coordinators that I know of is an MCB major. So don't worry, there's plenty of diversity. And most of those premed wannabes will change their minds in two years anyway

i had a great time for most of it- you guys put a TON of effort into it (espeicallly the panels/food/social activity). but just so you know, you might want to make sure you are recruiting hosts who actually want to do it. my host complained that she told the organizers of the overnight program that she only wanted ONE girl and that her roommate was going to flip when she found out there were TWO girls. She immediately pawned me off on her hallmate (i volunteered when she asked), who was just as unfriendly. Her hallmate told me "You can crash here, but I'm going to bed and waking up at 6 tomorrow." I then braved coed bathrooms alone, and fell asleep listening to the shrieks and laughter of students outside the dorms.

it didn't change the rest of my experience--i turned in my SIR and you guys were great. I just thought you might want to know for future programs.
