Is there an overnight stay program at Berkeley?

Yah, I got an invitation through the alumni scholarhip. Its April 22, and I've heard its very hard to get a spot. Not sure if its invitation only, but they said there's maybe 600 spots, and they all got filled in the first 15 minuets of registering.

Don't worry it sucks and you are hosted by a 2nd semester frosh that doesn't know anything anyways.

So are you suggesting I shouldnt do it.

is it only for people being considered for the alumni scholarship? I'm not, but I'd still like to go... Is there a website i can visit?

It's only for those that applied to the scholarship (regardless of whether or not they're still being considered). Sorry! You can still go to Cal Day though.

tivesrx -- no, no, come! I'm helping organize OSP and I'm also hosting. It'll be fun.

How does it work, do I stay in someone's dorm and go around to classes with them?

"Don't worry it sucks and you are hosted by a 2nd semester frosh that doesn't know anything anyways."

Actually mine was a 4th year student and he lived in the university-owned apartments, and it was a wonderful experience.

OK, I overgeneralized because my roommate did it freshman year and I hated his guts.

Gosh, polite antagonis..

tivesrx - You stay with a host in the dorms, but the host really doesn't stay with you that long. The OSP Committee basically plans a lot of events, and so those are the ones you'll be doing if you go to OSP: panels, tours, going to classes, a reception, breakfast, lunch, dinner at the dining hall, meeting other pre-frosh, night activities...you'll be busy

yeah, i forgot to sign up to host someone =D

There is also OHP = Overnight Host Program, RAZA, REACH, African American Recruitment/Retention Center, and many more programs. You can see if you were invited on your Checklist thingy.

i'm going with PASS :) see u guys there~
