Hi, I’m an admitted student for the class of 2020 for the biology department and Northeastern is one of my top choices. I’m planning to attend the College of Science admitted students’ day this coming weekend and was hoping to possibly stay overnight and visit classes on Monday. I contacted the office of admissions about it, and unfortunately they said that they don’t have organized overnight visits. Any suggestions or are there any female students hosting (preferably science or bioengineering majors)?
Try getting in contact with the advising office of the College of Science directly. Northeastern doesn’t have formal shadowing/overnight visits but an individual college might have their own ‘student ambassadors’ or the like who you might be able to meet with and/or sit in on a class. Overnight stays might be a little more difficult to arrange though I would say. When I was deciding, I came over and got to meet with my advisor and sat in on a class, just for reference.
I would recommend emailing the biology faculty advisor, Jacqueline Piret (j.piret@neu.edu), and see what options she might have available. Even if she’s unable to offer an overnight visit, I know at least for the behavioral neuroscience department that there’s a list of classes offered each day that are approved for visitors.
