I have one planned for April 7th. How have peoples’ gone? What should I expect? Anyone partied with their hosts? I’m looking forward to it!

pm me if you want to know how it went, or IM me (bananasfoster05)

mine was really boring. the kids were boring bc they had papers to write. i was expecting to go out and drink or something, but nothing. it was worth going and seeing the real dorms and attending classes though

OP, were u accepted ED?

yeeahh...no I wasn't accepted ED...it's going to be a DEPRESSING day if I have to call and cancel my visit. I don't think I'm baiting fate as I'm not "expecting" to get in. (I just REALLY want to!)

I wouldn't want to post iambananasfoster's story without his permission but I thought I would let you know that he had FUN.

she had fun

i stayed over with my friend for two nights and i totally fell in love with brown!

thanks amor... i'm a she :) but I did have fun, and will tell others if they want me to, but it's a long story, so just pm me.

Haha...when you mentioned that the two girls stayed away from the frat party I assumed your masculinity...my mistake!

tell your story!

yea, please do, I'm very curious!

lol, it's not that exciting, really, go yourself and have an awesome time, it will have a better effect. As some parts are a bit sketch I'd rather not post it (note this is not an admission of participation in illegal activites--all I will say is that I witnessed some, for sure). But if you really want to know, IM me. or PM me. Whatever. But it's not that exciting/unique of an experience.

When I had an overnight, my host was invited to an 80's party, and a spy party (???) but in the most anticlimactic event ever, she ended up taking me to do laundry because "no one's ever using the washing machines at midnight on Saturdays!" Gaaaawwwd.

What is it like going on an overnight, and how does it work? I have this fear of it being an incredibly awkward experience, but I guess could also be amazing if you go to a party or something.

RaboKarabekian, that seems like an accurate description of college life ;)

The whole point of the overnight is to get a sense of what an average night is like at Brown. Therefore, they only schedule overnights on Mon-Thurs. This way, you can see what a normal weekday, with work and such, is like; parties are fairly similar (I'm assuming) at most schools and a weekend overnight would not accurately represent Brown, IMHO.

Mine wasn't an official overnight. I stayed with a friend of my brother's.

Ooooh a spy party sounds fun! I wonder if Brown has ghost legends or anything of the sort?

I've visited, and I did the summer@Brown program for 3 weeks, but I've never stayed overnight with a student during the academic year. I guess that's what ADOCH is for, but there's no way that ADOCH will resemble a typical day. Ah well. I guess I'll have to wait to find out what it's really like.

To everyone who is visiting sometime soon -- Have fun, and be sure to tell us some cool stuff about Brown when you get home.
