Is anyone here planning on going to the April 14/15 or the April 21/22 overnights? They start real early in the morning...8:30 a.m., and one would have to fly into Chicago the night before, right?

if you look at the backside of the letter (at least i think it's on the back, i don't have it with me...) i believe it says that they recommend that you arrive by 1 PM and you must arrive by 4 PM to stay overnight -- therefore, the early morning stuff is optional.

i know that my flight is getting in around 9:30 AM, but that's just because my dad is nuts.

I know they recommend arriving by 1:00 p.m. So are the Friday morning activities a repeat of Thursday, just for those who got in later on Thursday. In order to sit in on a class or two, do you not need more time?
Did you call them to schedule a class visit, or are you just going with the flow...

I dont think I am going to go to one.

I visited, took a tour, went to a class, explored on my own (and even got an unofficial tour through some of the med labs) in october. Granted I would get to see the dorms but since my housing application is already in, it cant change my decision.

Any reason I should go?

Oh, you probably don't need to. we have not even set foot on campus, so for my D, the visit is a must.

I think if you know you're going to go (which you obviously do if you sent in the housing form) then it's sort of pointless to go on the overnight for admitted students as those visits are meant to convince you...but you're already convinced! If you've never seen the place before, obviously it's a good idea. Have fun, chocoholic!

Because of the travel distance, my D went the night before and stayed in I house - spartan digs for about $50/night. It worked out well for her.

Now that I know of a frosh at UC, if anyone needs on site help for lodging, send me a private message. I could probably enlist her help.
