What is the difference between these two scholarships. Today in the male im OOS i recieved admission as well as the Oxford scholarship but does this mean i cannot recieve the honors scholarship or is ther no diference, is there anything i am not getting by being in the oxford and not honors? any comments are appreciated.

This is info from a Miami financial aid booklet my son got in the mail. It states all students who are admitted to Miami are considered for many general scholarships which do not require an additional application. To be considered for the Harrison or Honors scholarships a separate application must be completed. The link is: www.muohio.edu/honors
The Harrison deadline was November 1 the link to it: www.muohio.edu/apply

honors gets priority scheduling...thats the main difference i am aware of. Oxford scholars get all other benefits and can take honors classes.

You cannot receive both an Oxford scholarship and an Honors scholarship. Oxford Scholars can take Honors classes, but it's rather difficult (often impossible) to get into the more popular classes because they do not have priority registration, like irish mentioned. There are more requirements in Honors, but there are also more benefits, such as the summer tuition waiver. Oxford Scholars can complete a certificate program.

If you are interested in applying to Honors, you can submit an application before January 31st.
