<p>Hey,
I'm going to Oxy class of 2017, and am kind of getting cold feet. I live in a suburb of LA, and being in LA again for the "best time of my life" seems kind of like a wasted opportunity. In addition, the campus isn't as nice as I thought and the area around it, Eagle Rock, isn't that nice. On the other hand, when I visited NYU in the Spring, I loved the atmosphere and the kids, but my parents wouldn't let me go to a big school, saying that I would "get lost". I got wait-listed to NYU only because I spent like half and hour on the application (I applied to like 14 schools). Oxy has a UN internship program where you can go to NY for a semester or a year, but that's in junior year. Should I transfer? If I do, in spring of 2014, will I miss out a lot in the social scene?
