Hello, I was recently admitted to the PACE program for next year and while I have already decided to accept the offer, I have questions about the program.
I know that recently there was some discussion on whether Pace students could rush, and that UT now considers them full time UT students so that technically they can. I was wondering if being a PACE student will hurt the chances of getting a bid for the majority of sororities, and if so would it be better to just rush sophomore year? Does anyone know how successful sophomore girls are at rushing (especially for some of the more well know houses, aka big six).
-Are PACE students allowed to take more than one class at UT, or is there a limit? I know that by the end of freshman year we need 24 credit hours from ACC, but I would still like to know if I could take multiple classes at UT.
-If there are any PACE students on here from last year, do you recommend living on campus? I was considering living at the towers or another off campus dorm, but I dont want to feel even more separated from other UT students, if that makes any sense haha

@daniiiheyo I can’t answer your questions about PACE, but I do know a little about sorority recruitment. Please forget anything you ever heard about tiers or big six. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you only want to join certain houses. Go into the recruitment process with an open mind, don’t listen to tent talk, and enjoy your time getting to know the girls in each house you visit. Find something to love in every chapter that invites you back. They see something in YOU that may lead to a bid to be one of their sisters. Enjoy the process and you’ll find the perfect home for you.
You can only take one class a semester TECHNICALLY, but I knew someone who is currently transferring into the music school, and she was allowed to take a 1 hour music class and a 3 hour academic class, so there are a few exceptions. But no, for the most part, you take one a semester. As for living on campus, it’s whatever you want to do. I personally wish I had selected to live off campus, but that’s a matter of personal preference because I hate living in my dorm. It’s a perfectly fine dorm, I just wish I didn’t live there, if that makes any sense. Let me know if I can answer any other questions
@gettingschooled Moore-Hill. it’s great for someone who doesn’t mind the inconveniences of shoving so many people in a small area, but I really need more space than dorm life permits. There’s a collection of people who always sit in the hall right outside my room talking loudly and I hate it, the showers are littered with hair, I don’t feel comfortable bringing guests over…just a bunch of little things that show it wasn’t a good fit for me. Doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it and my roommate is great, it’s just not ideal for me
Actually SMALL Moore Hill is less crowded and much quieter than BIG Jester.
Hair in the shower? How about sex in some other bigger dorms (according to facebook)?
Also, to compare with some other places I never heard about big stealing issues in Moore Hill (again, according to facebook)
@SlimShadyLady Thanks for the information. I understand your opinion is just one opinion, but for those of us with no real information on dorms, it helps to get an opinion of any kind.
