i understand that the actual academy has numerous physical tests and average and minimum scores for them

first of all, i tried the pae stuff, and for all of them (except for the pull ups) i managed to get better than the average

like push ups (2 minutes) i can do about 60
specfically though, i’m trying to increase this number so i can manage more…

recently, i’ve been doing a mini regimen when i do the two minute test, wait about 30 secs, do 15 push ups, rest another 30 secs, and do this 2 more times for a total of 120 push ups.

will this regimen work in increasing my 2 minute test to… say about 75-80 push ups?

heck, does anyone have any idea how to increase this?

this year i applied for an AFROTC scholarship

i had to run 1.5 miles, do pushups in a min, and do sit-ups in a min

I did 63 pushups in a min, got a two ,minute break did 63 sit-ups in a min, then 2 min later ran a 1.5 miles.

The best way to gain more pushups per minute is to just do as many pushups as possible without stopping, a few times a day. Do it in the morning, after school, then at night.

Also dont lift any weights on the days your doing the AF stuff or you will get too sore.

After a few days of doing as many as possible then increase your speed, try for one a sec.. you wont be able to do as many with more speed at first but after a couple of days you will be doing more pushups then before in a shorter amount of time.

At the 30 second mark of pushups i was at 36. If you do your pushups slowly lactic acid build up in your muscles will take too much of a toll on you.

Also another thing to go faster is not breathing much. Breathing slows you down a ton.

Hope this helped... tell me what you think

Also when you do the pft in afrotc or pft? in the afa there is a cap on alll of the activities. The max pushups they will count is 60 and they only do the test for ONE minute not two.

huh.... there's a cap? well my goal is to reach it then...

so breathing slows you down ALOT? .... huh, i thought that it helped, well i'll try it next time, thanks for the tip!
