Okay so I’ve narrowed it down to what I’m going to write about. I’m writing about the beginning of my college experience. My question is should I write down UPenn as the college I got into or does that sound too cockey. I was thinking of leaving it as just college but does that show I’m not very confident? What did you guys do or would suggest?

I think you should leave it just as college, not upenn...

In my essay, I wrote that I went to Penn.

Write that you got in to UPenn, because they want to know that you really want to go there (even though it may seem a little presumptuous and boa****l, it's ok.)

Wow, this forum is retarded. You can't even write a word that contains the letters "s t f u".

In any case, use "Penn", or University of Pennsylvania not UPenn! There was a big thread about this within the last couple of months. In an interview, the dean of admissions even made a point of requesting that people refer to the school as Penn.

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. I guess it does make a little more sense to write about getting into Penn.

Oh and thanks for the heads up collegecountdown. I have to go back and fix that on my essays.

I think i used the word UPenn in my essays...oops...but now that i think about it, i never see upenn on any penn websites and upenn just doesnt sound as good as "penn"

Okay I've finally started my essay and I'm stuck. I think I have writer's block or something. Would someone read what I have so far and give me ideas about what I should add?

Sure, I'll read them, just send me a PM.

Thanks so much for the comments on my essay. I've changed a few things around and I'm going to do a last read over and then turn it in.
