Hey Guys!
I just realized i wrote UPenn in my essays instead of Penn!!
Does that mean I'm totally off?

**** I did that too !!! ;alkjsd;lkfja

WAIT is it really bad that I wrote it too? Well I wrote “Penn” but I feel like that’s equally awkward…!!! :(

I think Penn is the appropriate term
but Upenn should be fine as well.

Guys…chill. You’re not gonna get rejected because of that.

this is the funniest post I have ever seen in cc…

Why is writing ‘Upenn’ instead of ‘Penn’ something to worry about?
Like pixels said, I don’t think your chance of being admitted is jeopardized for such a petty naming issue.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH EVERYONE FREAK OUT AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

jk it’s no big deal

I know they say Penn on campus etc but how could they hold that against you when their website address is upenn.edu ???

This was just asked last month:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pennsylvania/1412983-used-upenn-my-supplemental-esssays.html?highlight=upenn

And, regarding “Penn” versus “UPenn,” don’t people write out the full name anyway? Both seem way too slang or informal for me to put in an essay. How about “University of Pennsylvania?”

your situation is a lot better than some others who wrote Yale for their Penn essays in the past years.

wait a minute… so this inst Penn State?

^ It’s UPenn State (if you want to cover all the bases).

Also acceptable are YalePenn, YalePenn State, and the University of Princeton.

Haha do people actually call Penn by some of those names in the essays???

Thanks guys! So 45%, how do you know all that?? Are you an admissions officer or something at Penn?

No–at least I don’t think so.

- I don’t–I just made it up.
- No–just an alum.

:)

It’s ok, I wrote Penn State instead of Penn, most people regard them as the same thing anyway.

And @45Percenter, I actually capitalized “State” this time!
