I just wanted to know if my dual citizenship will hurt my chance at admission to Harvard, Yale, Duke, etc. Usually I wouldnt think it would make a difference, but I have a dual citizenship with Palestine, a territory not exactly seen in the greatest light here in America. Any advice?

The only thing that matters is that you have US citizenship. That lands you safely in the US applicant pool for financial aid purposes. If you have been living outside the US and have been educated in a foreign school system, then your academic records may need to be reviewed by someone from the international admissions office.

The places that you have listed receive many applications from dual citizens. Don’t worry about this for one more minute.

I dont think ValkyrieXT’s concern is having dual citizenship, but instead being criticized for being a Palestinian.

As an American, I really hope no college criticizes you for being from a Palestinian territory; if anything, I think you should be considered an URM! Giving that colleges are generally liberal, I feel as if you will not be looked at in a negative light, but instead a positive one!

Duke has a Middle East annual conference of some sort, the University of Tulsa even has a mosque on campus. Point is, of places in America, colleges and universities are the most liberal of them all. Indeed the better known, the more liberal they are – even more politically correct to be perfectly honest.
