Palladium/Exercise

What is the consensus on the quality of Palladium?

Is there a rock climbing wall?

What has been your experience using Palladium's facilities?

How do most people get their exercise in at NYU outside of Palladium? Are there other gyms around worth the money?

Palladium is really nice, just kind of cramped. More so in the weight room though.

Yes there is a rock climbing wall.

I go there 3 times a week and I like it a lot. Usually buy groceries after leaving or head upstairs for a meal at the dining hall.

People may go to Coles instead. Some students get gym memberships in the city. I’m not sure how much the memberships cost at NYSC or Crunch but they are also everywhere.

I have a NYSC club membership because I LOOOOOOVE to take spin classes and yoga, and the student memberships are ridiculously cheap, cheaper than NYU’s classes, actually.

NYSC is $99 down at sign up, and only $20 dollars a month. It’s a monthly membership, you aren’t locked into it. Just flash an NYU ID. You can take as many classes as you want. The ONLY restriction is that your blackout times are 4PM to 7:30PM on Monday - Thursday. But you can do other stuff during that time. They offer classes as early as 6am and as late as 9PM, and there are a few 24 hour gyms. I LOVE IT! IT ROCKS.

Heh, well thanks both of you for the info. How is the shower situation at NYSC? I’ve heard Palladium has a communal shower which makes me a bit uncomfortable.

NYSC is all shower stalls, at least the gyms that I’ve frequented. The towels are thin, but plentiful.

Yea Palladium is communal which completely sucks, they should take 1 of the 55k students tuition to put up some stalls. I never shower there.
