I emailed to Columbia my signed tax return forms as a pdf file today to ugrad-finaid@columbia.edu, rather than faxing or mailing the forms.

Would this be acceptable? The deadline for the files is November 16th.

I mailed mines…and I know for a fact that you can fax them. I never heard of e-mailing them before…ask them.

i just. okay. i don’t mean to be snippy but have you NOT read the site?

it clearly says, send by mail OR fax. not send by mail, or fax, OR email. it HAS to be sent in by either one of those because it has to have a cover letter, which has the information to identify what the hell it is their getting.

honestly, do you think that the finaid office will get your tax forms in the email and be like “hmmm, it says so and so’s name…let’s search the thousands of applications we have and hunt down their specific one because we totally have the time to do that!”

they don’t have the TIME. do you realize that they have THOUSANDS of papers, both physical and electronic coming in? if i were you, i’d go fax it right now because more than likely they will just delete your email and not care. it says send in by mail or fax. no where did it say email.

I included the cover page in the email as well.

I read somewhere else on CC that some kid emailed his and they sent him a confirmation email back.
