I have an opportunity to get 2 tickets for a football game but it's in Section 24. I know that's close to the student section, but is it actually IN it? I love the energy from the student section, BUT, standing for 3+ hours to watch isn't really my thing. :-)

Does anyone know what type of viewing experience could be expected in that section. The seats are in Row 50-something.

I don’t know about the reach of the student section, but Section 24 is beneath the press box, between the 30 and 40 yard line, those are pretty great tickets, if you don’t want them I bet there are a lot of people who would.

I think that student seating stops at section 25, check Mgoblue.com to be sure. I also believe that student tickets are marked as such and you can’t use them without a valid student ID.

As fredmar said, if you’re concerned, I suspect you could sell those tickets for many hundreds of dollars. Not offering, just mentioning :D

Section 24 isn’t in the student section. Like somebody said, it’s under the press box, and I gotta tell you those are some of the best seats in the house, hands down.

Yeah yosup, I sat down after the first touchdown last week and was one of very few in the student section. My back literally cannot take standing that long without so much as something to lean on periodically, especially after walking to the stadium and knowing I have to walk back. I could still see pretty well though, I hope it’ll be the same way tomorrow. I wonder if the hockey student section does that, too. I don’t get it. Part of the fun is leaping to your feet when somebody scores! :P

There’s nothing worse than having one of those “down in front” people behind you. If you want to sit and watch the game you should just stay home and watch it on TV. Last week someone yelled at me to sit down during a TV time out. I think he wanted to sit and watch the grass grow even though it’s been gone for 6 years.

^ What’s so wrong about wanting to sit down and enjoy a live football game? I always thought everyone sat down and stood up to cheer a touchdown, or cheer on the team at an exciting moment like Twisted o_O I hope I don’t get beat up when I sit :[

Nobody cares if you sit as long as you don’t yell at anyone to get out of your line of sight, which didn’t even occur to me to do as MOST people were standing and it was clearly expected. Though I admit I got some disgruntled looks from the people standing next to me, apparently I am a party pooper. I am just not healthy enough to walk all the way to the stadium, stand for the entire game, and walk back after a full week of running around campus for classes. I have back, knee, and foot issues and it’s just not going to happen. XD I sat down and luckily could see fine, if I can’t tomorrow I’ll just have to miss parts of the game to take breaks. I’ve never been to any kind of a sporting event where people stood the entire time, nor do I know anybody outside of crazy collegeland that would WANT to stand that long. I don’t care if anybody else does, but I am certainly not bothering anybody so nobody else should care.

I was staring right at it yesterday afternoon. Section 24 is not a student section. Half of Section 25 has students. All of Section 26 is a student section.

I actually fainted about five minutes in and had to go home early. I am hoping to catch a replay or to find someone that taped it, by the time I managed to get home I’d missed most of it. I am hoping it’s not so hot next Saturday or I am wondering if I should just stay home, I’ve in some way gotten sick from the heat twice now. :(

Twisted, I’m sorry you missed the game. It can get warm in the sun and it is easy to get dehydrated. If you are not physically able to attend the game, you should contact the athletic department to see if they can make an accommodation for you. In any event, it won’t stay this warm for long. You may be dodging snowballs at the OSU game. Forecast for Saturday is low 70’s. Game time is noon so there will be less shade.

I don’t have any shade in my section anyway and low 70’s sounds pretty manageable. We are playing boyfriend’s school next time, so I can’t miss that one!

Hockey games are the same way (standing in student section), but they are much louder and more fast-paced. Usually a game that starts at 7:30 will be done by 10.

Yikes. I guess I will just have to hope to get behind short people as I have done at the football games, in football I can sit down and still stand up as soon as anything starts to happen without missing much, hockey is much too fast paced for that. That’s a shame.

Having the body of a 90 year old as a 20 year old is seriously frustrating!
