Parents at Princeton Preview

I was wondering whether or not you should bring your parents to Princeton Preview. Do many prefrosh bring their parents? Would it be an advantage or disadvantage to go with them?
Thanks!

When our '16 son went to preview we went as well. There were lots of things for parents to see and do, and it helped us get a vision for how Princeton life might look for him.

There are events for the parents, for sure…though I was a bad parent who skipped the college stuff and hopped the train to check out NYC

@GoodGrief16 - With all due respect, I must disagree. That shows you’re a wise parent.

Princeton expects parents at the Preview Day, and food, drinks and events are provided for them. When I was there last year with my son, it looked like most of them were with parents. Of course, parents are not required to be there should they wish not to participate.

If the parent can afford to attend the compact one-half day of Preview, then it can be very useful to help your child process his thoughts after you return home. Preview was 2-1/2 days back in 2012 and though I didn’t see my son '16 much during our time there since he was so busy with Prefosh activities, I thoroughly enjoyed the program for the parents, talking with them, and driving around Princeton to get a feel of the town and establishments.
