Parents receive Free/Reduced Price Lunch and Mother is a dislocated worker but if mark on FAFSA that parent is a dislocated worker the questions about Parents receiving SNAP, TANF, and Free/Reduced Lunch disappear and can’t answer them?? So we put “I Don’t Know” as answer for Dislocated Worker and that allowed us to put that Parents receive Free/Reduced Price Lunch and then we are going to include an explanation that Mother is a Dislocated Worker and Parents receive Free/Reduced Price Lunch but form would not allow us to mark both.
Is this correct way to handle this on FAFSA?
Thanks
Parents receive Free/Reduced Price Lunch&Mother is a dislocated worker but can't mark both on FAFSA?
You don’t see the other questions because once you say the parent is a dislocated worker, the other questions become irrelevant. Free/reduced lunch and dislocated worker accomplish the same benefit regarding fafsa, meeting one of the two requirements for simplified means or auto 0 EFC. I think free/reduced lunch is probably easier to prove than dislocated worker if the school should ask for proof. “I don’t know” is the same as “no” unless you contact the school finaid office to inquire. Both satisfy one of the requirements for simplified means or auto 0 if parent AGI is low enough.
