It was October. It was really nice out, like 70. But yeah, winter probably sucks.

I know people who have gotten into Berkeley with worse stats :/

^ Yeah, but was it in an Impacted major? Also… those tend to be the more endpoints than the mean/ match stats.

Yeah see… weather is a major factor for me (I know it shouldn’t be that big)

The only reason I’m applying to Cornell is cause if I don’t get into Berkeley or Harvey Mudd, I’d rather go to Cornell than UCSD or UCLA.

How close is UIUC to Chicago? I think the Bears played a season at their football season, so am I right in thinking it’s not that far?

Weather in SoCal > NorCal >>> Chicago

^ about 2 hours south

^lol agreed.

UC Berkeley
Harvey Mudd College
Cornell University
UC Los Angeles
Rice University

UC San Diego
Brandeis University
University of Washington- St. Louis

UC Davis
UC Irvine
Carnegie Mellon University

Here’s my list. Reach/ Match/ Safety. Need to add one.

We got recommendations in this thread for: UIUC, Cal Tech, McKenna, Stanford, Ivys

I really don’t have a shot though at Ivys? I don’t have outstanding awards/ like an 8 year extracurricular. Same goes for Stanford. Caltech- like I’d get in. And also too tecky.

McKenna- Why apply when I want to go to Harvey Mudd?

I need one more school guys. What shall it be?

You actualy have a really good list.

But it’s “Washington University,” not “University of Washington.”

The University of Washington is in Seattle, and it might actually belong on your list.

I think you have a great chance at Davis and Irvine, and San Diego. UCLA is just plain difficult to get into. UC Berkeley really looks at academics, so maybe if you raise your SAT score you have a better chance.

wait if you are interested in engineering stuff Carnegie Mellon is good, so is U Illinois, Urbana Champaign.

But I think Berkeley is a good college to aim at.

Blackrose, why don’t you try to take the ACT? If English is your strong point along with science, since I saw AP BIO and your SAT Lit test were pretty good, you could have a pretty good chance at ACT.

SEE?? Even einnob reccommended UIUC.

I like Pepperdine it’s prettyyy

Is UIUC > U Chicago> University of Washington??

to me personally U Chicago>WashU>UIUC

but to many WashU>U chicago>UIUC

all are great schools though

Pepperdine has one of the most beautiful campuses I’ve ever seen (though I’ve only seen pics)

^Not washington U… someone told me about Washington University- St. Louis vs. University of Washington.

But thank you for that comparison as well.

oh well nevermind then haha

what did you want to major in

Engineering

and yeah I’m putting WashU on my list not UWash

I see that you are considering Carnegie Mellon which is a (few?) plane ride(s) away from cali. What about Purdue and Georgia Tech

idk… for me its like. It has to take a special school to get me out of a wonderful place like California… so maybe I should just add another reach/ high match school? Both Purdue and Georgia Tech would be safeties… I’d rather go to UCSD.

gtech isnt as easy to get into as youd think

be careful a lot of the schools you put on youre match list are competitive and harder to get into than you think
