I got accepted to PSP and I'm wondering who else did. It sounds interesting to me but there's very little info about the school out there. My counselor is trying to get more info for me but I need to decide soon and I need help!

Did anyone else get into this? Have you talked to admissions about it? Planning on attending or not? Concerns?

Hi! I got into the PSP too! I’m strongly considering it-I’ve taken French for 6 years and I love Paris. My main concern is the social aspect to be quite honest. When returning to GW I’m worried that it’s going to be hard to make new friends, as everyone is already in their “group”. What about you? Are you considering attending? Have you met/talked to anyone else accepted?

I got into PSP too! I’ve been advised by guidance counselors , interpretations from ivy league admission people (relatives of friends), and a current student that the easiest way to explain our admission decision was to call it a deferred acceptance/acceptance with conditions. While I am honored GW acknowledged my existence, I will not be attending because of the price and the idea of traveling abroad all year to unfamiliar (to me) location is unattractive (I’ve studied spanish… so no help there). Whether or not you accept this interesting program, anyone now or in the future, should consider the unique pros and cons pertaining to their individual situations rather than base the decision on the advise of others. For example, my guidance counselor wanted me to attend regardless of the $40K debt I’d get because he believed it would be worth it, being such a prestigious university.Others claim the debt wasn’t worth it in favor of the cheapest school so I’d have plenty of money for renowned grad school. Once again, its up to personal interpretations.

My son also got the PSP offer. After at first saying “Wow!”, we began to say “What??” Although very tempting – and I do think he’s the type of person who woud do fine so far away – I believe he will opt to go to a less prestigious university in favor of a more traditional freshman year experience. Also, the “inaugural” part of it makes us a little nervous. There has been very little (or no) follow-up or information on the program, although there was a webinar on April 12. Before that, we both called GW separately, and were both told by the GW admissions office that we had to email someone else – they wouldn’t talk to us about it at all over the phone. In the end, he hasn’t had a lick of French, so I can’t help but think that it was a pretty random assignment. But it was interesting of them to offer, and believe me, it’s an intriguing idea. Just thinking a little too novel. A semester? More palatable.

Anyone else? Decision time is coming up and I wanted to know if anyone was thinking seriously of doing it!
